FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What Drone Equipment Do You Use?
-
- We use the professional DJI Mavic 2 Pro because of its small size and maneuverability, stability in windy conditions, and high definition Hasselblad camera. Made in Sweden, Hasselblad cameras are renowned for their iconic ergonomic design, uncompromising image quality, and Swedish craftsmanship. Since 1941, Hasselblad cameras have captured some of the world’s most iconic images – including the first moon landing. The Mavic 2 Pro supports a 10-bit Dlog-M color profile that yields higher dynamic range for more flexibility in the grading room. The system records over 1 billion colors (compared to the 16 million colors from traditional 8-bit color coding technologies) and retains more in-depth details in both highlights and shadows. - We use the professional Canon EOS R, a mirrorless camera that supports a 30.3 Megapixel Full-frame CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 8 Image Processor that delivers stellar low-light performance, even in dark situations. This system also captures smooth 4K video that's easy to share and can be enhanced in post-production thanks to the included Canon Log. In daylight or in the dark, in the studio or on the street, the EOS R's lightweight, intuitive and durable design means strong performance and gorgeous results. [Credit: Canon USA]
- For 360 degree virtual tour products, we use the Ricoh Theta Z1 camera which is equipped with a 1.0-inch back illuminated CMOS image sensor with an output of approximately 23MP (6720x3360) effective megapixels for high-definition 360 degree images. [Credit: Ricoh USA]
- For buttery-smooth interior and exterior videos, we couple the Canon EOS R with the DJI Ronin SC gimbal, a lightweight design and superior 3-axis stabilizer, which allows us to create professional 4k ultra high definition footage with ease.

- What is Photogrammetry?
-
Photogrammetry is a technology for measuring the physical environment through photographic images in order to reconstruct an object such that it can be viewed and manipulated as a 2D or 3D computer-generated image. This technology is especially useful in architecture, topographic mapping, and cultural preservation, among other uses. Google Earth uses photogrammetry to create 3D imagery.
In our use, a drone is programmed to fly a specific pattern, taking hundreds of photographs of an object. These photographic images are then compiled in a software program to create the computer-generated 2D or 3D image of that object.
